The immediate past governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha has been sworn in as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Rochas Okorocha was sworn in today by the Senate President, Ahmed Lawal as the senator repreaenting Imo West Senatorial District.
The former governor was refused accreditation to participate in the inauguration following a case he had with INEC.
INEC had failed to issue him a certificate of return despite a Returning Officer declaring him winner of the Imo West senatorial election.
The Returning Officer claimed he made the announcement under duress. However a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered INEC to issue him the certificate.
