Ghana to start taxing prosperity churches  – President says

The president of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo, has said that the recent activities of churches in the country might result in monthly taxation of churches.

The president who spoke at a synod of the Global Evangelical Church at the University of Ghana, remarked that the church is becoming a pale shadow of what it used to be generations ago.

He also observed that churches which main focus was on charity and welfare of members has shifted to prosperity and according to him necessitates this calls for churches and their leaders to be taxed.
