The rulling APC may be heading for a heated crisis following disagreements between the party chairman Adams Oshiomhole and party (APC) senators over plans to remove the Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki from office.
This comes following a meeting which held yesterday at the Sharaton Hotel, Abuja, where Senator Shehu Sani was reportedly handed the job of convincing the Senators to sign up to the idea of Saraki’s impeachment with ₦100Millon each. According to the reports, only 29 senators out of the 42 senators present at the meeting agreed to sign the supposed impeachment notice.
Among those who didn’t say “Yes” or “No” where newly decamped Senator Goodwill Akpabio who was reportedly silent all through the meeting. It was reported that when Senator Akpabio was asked his own opinion on the matter he replied: “I have nothing to say at this moment”
The Punch reports that Adams Oshiomole and the 29 senators who signed the impeachment document proceeded to Oshiomhole’s residence in Ask Drive Abuja for further deliberations and disbursements of 100 million naira cash in Ghana must go bags.
At the meeting, Senator Magnus Abe was said to be denied access into the room over allegations that he was still loyal to Saraki.
Over the proposed plabs to impeach Senate President Bukola Saraki, a party chieftain is quoted as saying that Saraki might remain in office until his tenure runs out in June next year over the disunity and Insisnerity within the APC especially owing to Oshiomhole’s recent inflammatory remarks.
