Super Eagles player Kelechi Nwakali will be joining the Super Eagles World Cup team after his impressive display at against Atletico Madrid in Uyo.
According to unconfimed reports, the player will be joining the Nigerian World Cup squad heading to Russia.
The player will train with the squad although his name was not included in the 30 man provisional list for the World Cup.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is believed to be impressed with Nwakali’s scoring technique in one of Super Eagles’ two goals against UEFA Europa League champions, Atletico Madrid although the Nigerian side lost 3-2.
According to FIFA rules a player can be replaced only if he suffers an injury that rules him out of the World Cup. As it stands, Nwakali can only replace a player who suffers this fate.
