American actor, Morgan Freeman has been accused by eight women of sexual harassment and “inappropriate behavior” a CNN report says. The women say this happened on set, in his company and at interviews.
Among the accusers are a CNN reporter Chloe Melas, journalists, production assistants, and staffers at Freeman’s company, Revelations Entertainment.
According to a CNN report by Chloe Melas, the other women accuse the Hollywood actor of inappropriate comments about their appearance and unwanted touching.
Melas began investigating Freeman after an encounter she had with him during a press event for his movie Going in Style.
The CNN reporter who was six months pregnant at the time says Freeman shook her hand, not letting go, repeatedly looking her up and down and said: “I wish I was there.” He also said to her: “You are ripe.”
Also, a production assistant on Going in Style accuses Freeman of “unwanted touching and comments about her figure and clothing on a near-daily basis” and of trying to lift up her skirt until her costar. She said the actor “kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear.”
In a statement issued by the actor following the allegations, Freeman said: “Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy.
“I apologise to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected – that was never my intent.”
