Suspected Herdsmen Kill 10 in Fresh Kogi  Attacks  


Suspected Fulani herdsmen have attacked a community in Bassa Local Government area of Kogi State on Sunday killing 16  people.

The attackers descended on Kpanche community on Sunday Morning, shooting at unarmed villagers and setting houses ablaze. 

Confirming the incident, the commissioner of police in the state Ali Kangaroo said community members as well as  five asailants lost their lives. 

He said: “When the police were informed about the attack, they swung into action alongside the Nigeria Army.”

“Operatives of the police mobile force and soldiers repelled them (the assailants)  and succeeded in killing five bandits and recovered some weapons.
“So far, normalcy has been restored in the area,” Janga said.
