Where is Cynthia Morgan?
Nigerians missing her rich blend of patois music are curious about the whereabouts of Cynthia Morgan.
The singer from Benin, Edo State burst into the Nigerian music scene with her unique Jamaican styled music. Releasing two songs, ‘Don’t Break my Heart’ and ‘Lead me On’ in 2013, which put the singer on to top charts across Nigeria. She went ahead to release ‘Baby Mama’ in 2015 which became an instant hit. Since then she has been outgunned by fellow female singers like Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Simi and lately Niniola.
Her surgeon into the Nigerian entertainment industry actually started on a shaky foundation. Being signed to Northside Entertainment, owned by Jude Okoye, the elder brother of the P Square twins. Her woes in the industry can be partly blamed on the crisis that rocked the Okoye brothers.
To add to her woes, Cynthia fell out with Jude’s wife who believed that she was having an affair with her husband. This contributed to the long silence from the artist as her manager Jude Okoye would sacrifice her music career for his family. Little wonder she is yet to release an album.
Cynthia Morgan has strived to remained relevant in the Nigerian social media circles by flaunting her sexiness and her slutry fashion added to her mostly twisted opinion on issues of public concern. But the instability of her record label and management team owing means she is stuck in the middle of a family war and her music career is paying the costly price for it.
