Boxer Conor McGregor who attacked UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov has been charged.
He was charged with three counts of misdemeanour assault and one count of felony criminal mischief.
McGregor attacked a van carrying Nurmagomedov because he was due to fight Max Holloway for his lithtweight belt. He shattered it’s windows.
Before McGregor’s outpouring of rage, UFC President Dana White had announced that McGregor would be stripped of his UFC Lightweight championship, thereby declaring the category vacant.
Dana Whiten described McGregor’s actions as “the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in the history of the company.” in a Facebook Live interview posted on MMAJunkie, White said that Lightweight Michael Chiesa was “cut … really bad” during the incident as the result of a broken window.
“What happened here today is Conor and approximately 20 guys apparently were let in through the doors by the Mac Life guys who were credentialed here,” White said in the interview. “They stormed the building, got down to the loading docks where the fighters were getting on the buses and started to attack the buses. Throwing trash cans and dollies and things like that.”
He was released on bail with a $50,000 bond and allows his international passport.
Before Gus release, 50 cent had posited his intent to help bail the MMA fighter.
