Buhari Did Not Query IGP Ibrahim Idris – Police Spokesman Brags

Following President Buhari’s visit to Benue State and his realization that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris disobeyed his orders to relocate to Benue State after the Benue State massacre on January 1st 2018 that left 76 people dead, Idris was summoned by the President. This summon was to explain why he disobeyed a Presidential order.

Many Nigerians perceived this sermon to be a query. Some were very pleasd at this development while others called for stiffer measures against the Inspector General.

In a disgraceful development, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force , Jimoh Moshood, has openly bragged that his boss, IGP Idris was never queried by President Muhammadu Buhari contrary to media reports which excited some stakeholders.

In a chat with ThisDay Newspaper, Jimoh Moshood said vehemently that the President never issued any queries to IGP Idris. The force PRO also want further to challenge those in doubt to produce the documents supporting their claims.

Many Nigerians were of the opinion that the president’s summon was a query to the police chief. Some  had gone ahead to suggest that President Buhari sacks Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris.

However in a chat with Thisday yesterday, the Nigeria police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood, said there is no truth to the reports that the IG was queried by the president and that ayone that has a copy of the query should present it.

“The IGP was not queried. There is very clear issue on that, that he was not queried by the President. Anybody that said the IGP was queried by the president should bring the copy of the query, let us display it,” Moshood said.

Let us explore the definition of a query.

A query is either a question, especially one expressing doubt or requesting information or the act of

asking a question about something, especially in order to express one’s doubts about it or to check its validity or accuracy.

According to President Buhari’s twitter handle, IGP Idris was summoned and questioned about his refusal to obey a presidential order. So technically, Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris was queried.
