Following John Mikel Obi’s dwindling playing time at Chelsea FC, Nigerian football legend Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha has urged the midfielder to leave Stanford Bridge and seek better challenges somewere else.
Under coach Antonio Conte, Mikel has struggled to break into the Blues first team this season. This development had prompted Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr to suspect that Conte was punishing Mikel for assisting Nigeria clinch Bronze at the Brazil Olympics.
Jay Jay Okocha, who was the captain of the Super Eagles before his retirement has advised the midfielder to look for a new club away from Stamford Bridge.
“In my personal view I think he must seek a new challenge elsewhere so he can enjoy his football,” he said
“What he is going through at the moment is the worst thing that could happen to a player and I urge him to move on.”
