Graphic pohtos: 30 die in bloody clash between MOSSOB/IPOB members and Soldiers in Onitsha



Over 30 people were killed in Oitsha as pro-Biafra supporters and military clashed on Monday. The Onitsha, Mkpor, Asaba road was locked down the pro-Biafra supporters came out in their numbers to celebrate Biafra memorial day in remembrance of the Biafran war (1967-1970)




The celebration of Biafran Day in memory of Late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu turned bloody on Monday, May 30, in Anambra, as the police, and military clashed with MOSSOB and members of IPOB clashed, killing over 30 persons and injuring many. It was equally gathered Monday that over 50 members of the Biafran group were arrested by the military and taking to their 302 cantonment in Onitsha.


There are also reports that the members of  MOSSOB  killed three policemen, throwing two policemen into River Niger and stabbing another officer to death.

According to an eye witness, Uche Okelue, trouble started after a police team threw teargas at the protesters …
“The police used teargas on the MASSOB people as they were protesting along Anwai Road this morning, so the people got angry and attacked the policemen with knives and broken bottles. They caught one policeman, beat him up before stabbing him to death; it was a fierce confrontation as everyone ran in different directions.”
