The opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP has at the factional party convention that held in Port Harcourt changed their party slogan.
The opposition party that ruled Nigeria from 1999 to 2015  once boasted that they would rule Nigeria till 2050. The party known for their slogan “Power to the People” lost in the 2015 presidential elections to the then opposition party, the All Peoples Congress, APC.
The Concerned PDP Stakeholders, a faction led by Prof. Jerry Gana held a parallel convention in Port Harcourt as the Ali Modu Sherrif led political party held their 2016 convention in Area 11, Abuja.
It was at the convention that held in Port Harcourt that former Senate President David Mark hurled the new slogan “PDP! Change the Change.”
This development has been greeted by criticisms from Nigerians who have mocked Senator David Mark’s comedic antics and questioned the PDP’s ability to form a strong opposition front against the ruling APC.
