#Dasukigate: PDP denies Olisa Metuh — “We didn’t benefit from arms deal”


The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has declared that the party will jot provide sureties fr the bail of the party’s National Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh.

This was made known by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Abdullahi Jalo. He said Metuh will have to look for sureties himself.
According to him:
“Metuh didn’t represent the party in the alleged crimes he’s being prosecuted. The party didn’t benefit from the alleged crime.” Adding that he ‘would look for sureties himself… he would carry his cross alone’.
 

Olisa Metuh is facing trial for receiving N400m from former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, who is accused of fraudulently diverted $2.1 billion meant for the purchase of arms for the military in the fight against Boko Haram.
He was also charged for attempting to destroy evidence after tearing a confessional statement he made to EFCC operatives.
