South African king Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo serving jail term in Wellington Prison


South African King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo  began serving his jail term on Wednesday at the Wellington Prison located outside Mthatha in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa.

King Buyelekhaya of the late Nelson Mandela’s AbaThembu clan of South Africa was found guilty of culpable homicide, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, arson, and kidnapping.

He was convicted in 2009 and has repeatedly been granted bail but a South African court, struck out his latest attempt to seek bail and ruled that he begin his 12 year sentence immediately.

The monarch who once threatened to secede with his clan punished his subjects by kidnapping and burning them between 1995 and 1996.
