Singer Natalie Cole has passed on. The Grammy award winning singer died on January 1 at a Los Angeles Hospital, aged 65 .
Her death was caused by congestive heart failure, TMZ says. Resulting from medical complications of a kidney transplant and Hepatitis C.
Natalie Cole’s hit song “This Will Be,” earned her the Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, in 1976. Other songs “Sophisticated Lady”, “Our Love”, and her duet with her father Nat King Cole, “Unforgettable.” earned her numerous awards and nominations.
Natalie had cancelled numerous tours due to illness, most recent being the on New Year’s Eve at Disney Hall in Los Angeles.
She also canceled an upcoming concert in February.
The singer who is survived by a son, Robert Adam “Robbie” Yancy was diagnosed with liver disease in 2008 and was abusing cocaine before going to rehab in 1983.
She had also quit heroine and LSD in 1975.
