Social media activist and leader of the #BringBackOurGirls, Oby Ezekwesiki is considering a New Year without social media.
Oby Ezekwesili led the #BringBackOurGirls campaign and attracted international outcry for the freedom of the Chibuk school girls.
The girls were kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists in April 2014 while they prepared for the annual West African Examination Council WAEC exams.
She had also drummed support for President Buhari during the 2015 general elections.
One wonders why she will consider quitting now since the Chibok girls gave not been freed yet.
Those critical of the activist believe she only campaigned for the presidency of APC candidate Muhammadu Buhari and is only taking a break because the major aim of discrediting the Goodluck Jonathan administration and bringing President Buhari to power have been fulfilled but the activist says she is only considering the idea to “rest her Twitter/Facebook accounts.”
What she will do next…
After resting her social media accounts, Oby Ezekwesiki will be holding weekly Citizens Public Policy Debates in Abuja. That will be whenever she is in the country!
Seems like Oby is not only taking a break but also leaving Nigeria.
