Bovi, Okey Bakassi, Gordons and others thrill Enugu fans at the Glo Laffta Fest


The Coal City of Enugu came alive on Sunday, November 15, when the much expected GloLaffta Fest train sponsored by Next Generation telecoms network, Globacom, arrived the South Eastern hub from Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State.

The Golden Royal Hotel on Chime Avenue, venue of the wave-making comedy show,witnessed an unprecedented crowd of Glo subscribers who had waited for their turn to share the comic experience.


Excited guests were seen arriving the hotel in droves and filing into the cozy ambience of the auditorium which was well lit with a warm blend of green lightening effects, creating an atmosphere of fun and pleasure.


Renowned comedian, Bovi, was the anchor ofthe show. His dexterous comic acts on stage kept the audience glued to their seats. Other comedians who entertained the audience include; Senator, Buchi, Okey Bakassi, Funny Bone, Gordons, De-Don and Princewill.Alternative soul singer and Glo ambassador, Bez, spiced up the event with music. Hisperformance was sublime, thrilling the audience with his hit track “That Stupid Song”.


Nkechi Ahunanya a level 200 student of Business Administration in Enugu State University of Science and Technology couldnot find enough words to express her pleasure.‘It’s just amazing…I laughed from the beginning of the show to the end. Okey Bakassi is a clown,’ she simply declared.

In his welcome address at the event, Globacom’s Business Director, South East, Abidemi Ajagbe, said, “as a business enterprise which believes strongly in empowering its subscribers, we are committedto giving all our subscribers more of everything we do. These include more rewards, more shows and the best experience they can ever get from any network. It is therefore our joy tonight to give you this great show.”

He urged the guests to keep on using Glo as the company was committed to meeting their expectations at all times.  He announced that the Glo Laffta Fest train would continue its tour of major cities in the country and would berth in Yenogoa, Bayelsa State, on Sunday.

Mr. Ajgbe added that subscribers who wish to attend the show in Yenogoa, Awka, Nsukka, Owerri, Aba and Makurdi can still do so by using up to N3,000 before the show and sending ‘LOL’ and preferred location of the show to “33001”. For example, ‘LOL YENOGOA’ to 33001.
