Medical charity Organization, Doctors Without Borders has closed its hospital in the Afghan province of Kunduz on Sunday over alleged war crimes committed by the United States.after a US airstrike killed 22 people.
In a swift response, the Pentagon said there are at the moment three inquiries into the airstrike, one by the Defense Department, one involving both the United States and Afghanistan, and one by NATO. Pentagon officials however did not deny that the airstrike on Saturday morning could have cause heavy casualties.
Doctors Without Borders has insisted that it will not be satisfied until an independent investigation be conducted.
