According to the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), the North Korean Mission in Nigeria made a formal complaint to it over the illegal distribution a 2014 Sony Pictures Film, The Interview, which the North Korean mission regarded as provocative.

North Korea describes the movie, The Interview, as a representation of “dangerous film making, which justifies and encourages terrorism.”

North Korean Ambassador in Nigeria, Jung-Choi, while pleading with the NFVCB to ban the movie in Nigeria, said that the movie undermines the developments achieved by North Korea and seeks to portray the country negatively.

The Interview is a movie starring James Franco and Seth Rogen  enlisted by the CIA to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.
