Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari today met with US President Barrack Obama today in the White House.
While President Buhari praised the United States for the pressure mounted on the Goodluck Jonathan administration to conduct free and fair elections, President Obama described Nigeria as one of the most important countries on the African continent and indeed the world .
President Obama praised the just concluded general elections describing it as an affirmation of Nigeria’s readiness to embrace democracy.
Their discussion centered upon security, particularly Boko Haram, corruption and economic cooperation between both nations.
President Buhari also met with vice president Joe Biden in a closed door session.
