The buzz generated by the discrimination of African musicians at the recently held BET 2015 Awards in LA still lingers.
Very talented African musicians performed before the main event for a 27-man audience. The audience consisted of BET staff and technicians who made up the BET Experience crowd. BET cameramen, technicians and probably cleaners.
They were totally humiliated.
Musicians Yemi Alade, Wizkid, Sakordie, Fuse OGD and a host of others protested the shady treatment and some African media dared to take sides with the guys at BET.
Why on earth is the African category of the awards held hours before the ‘main event? “If African artistes are not worthy in your sight, please by all means cancel, delete, and omit the ‘Best International Act (Africa) category out of the glorified award. “This is so wrong.’’

According to Live Fm’s Jay Foley who was at the BET with Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy, he counted the people at the auditorium and they were exactly 27. Why did BET invite African artistes only to humiliate them?
BET didn’t pay attention to advertisement. The African section of the awards wasn’t well publicised.
